We do a lot of painting and modelling in our little shop in Ashley Cross, however sometimes it is nice to go a little more traditional and have some fun with sugar flowers.
Our Bride and Groom were getting married at a Country House and wanted something equally grand on their cake. Their flowers were inspired by the Brides bouquet, the mix of colours worked perfectly and definitely made the cake that much more interesting to look at.
The sugar flowers are all handmade and were chosen to compliment the Bride's bouquet. Once the flowers had dried we began placing each individual flower and leaf onto the cake, finishing off with a lace bow and a vintage brooch.
The cake was not just traditional in design but also in flavour, we did a mix of rich fruit cake fed with Brandy and Rum, and a traditional Vanilla sponge filled with raspberry preserve and vanilla buttercream.
