Ruffles and Pearls Wedding Cake
Wedding Cake Project Brief
Our ruffles and pearls wedding cake was made for a bride who wanted a completely white cake. She wanted it to have areas of embellishment to match some of the fabric in her dress, so we came up with design using her fabrics for inspiration. This cake has delicate ruffled areas, sugar pearls for an eye catching look and is finished with a free-hand piped design.
How We Made The Wedding Cake
Our cakes were baked fresh in the shop and covered in a lovely white sugarpaste. Once perfected, our cakes are then stacked. We used a divider on this cake to give it a more unique look. We apply the ruffles in a swirl pattern over the cake in different areas to create a beautiful design. Sugar pearls are then added to accent the ruffles and are used to build on the look and add more dimension. Finally our skilled decorators use royal icing to pipe intricate lace work on to the cake and did this free hand - without stencils or guides! We continue to add to areas and finish when we are happy with the design.
Wedding Cake Ingredients
Our cake contains four flavours. Coconut sponge with rich chocolate ganache filling, white chocolate and raspberry with soft white chocolate ganache, vanilla sponge with passionfruit filling and lemon and raspberry filled with tangy lemon buttercream.
